L'unité du Génie militaire et l'intimidation armée au Gabon: Les motivations professionnelles du racket des « gens d'armes »/Military Unit and the intimidation armed in Gabon: The professional motivations of the soldier's racket

In 2012, militaries units deployed in Kinguele and Akebe-Ville districts have mission to give water in civil population. During civil-military operation, a part of soldiers intimidated and extorted money from population. This article explains that intimidation phenomenon by Gabonese soldier is based on professional's motivations, not only political logic. The article is focused on the soldier's social condition which appears as a professional group different from their hierarchy. The intimidation phenomenon is interpreted at first as professional frustration of the troop. The intimidation phenomenon is not only dependant of the authoritarian political system, it's depending economics logics.
