Zusammenfassung: | This article has Distributed Morphology (Halle and Marantz, 1993) as its theoretical framework and has two main objectives. The first objective is descriptive: reanalyze the person verbal markers of Ikpeng, a language from the Cariban family, as clitics and the number suffixes as the result of Fission on those clitics. The second is theoretical: explore the explanatory power of the modular Spellout of Arregi and Nevins (2012). We make a proposition of the Ikpeng verb derivation in the syntax and post-syntax, demonstrating how the interaction of different morphological operation can handle person hierarchy effects and the positioning of morphemes. |
