Zusammenfassung: | This paper, result of an undergraduate research project developed between 2012 and 2013, aims at presenting a research survey about language policy and planning concerning modern foreign languages teaching in Brazil. In order to do so, we made our searches specifically in Capes thesis databank, looking for thesis and dissertations about this topic from 2007 to 2011. To develop such survey the term "Linguistic Policies" was used in that system, through which 26 researches about the topic were found. From those studies, we noticed that the number of publications about the theme have risen subtly in the last years, indicating the relevance of the subject. Besides, it is observed that the authors' motivations relate to each other, because a great amount of the studies highlight the importance of such discussions in terms of choice and implementation of a foreign language in the curricula of different contexts, developing analysis about the relationship between the teaching of such languages in the Brazilian Basic School and the political and ideological aspects underlying the laws which lead the education system. With this study, we aim at contributing with data gathering about language policy and planning in Brazil, in order to collaborate with the present discussion about the theme, mainly in what concerns to the debate within the Language Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. |
