Zusammenfassung: | A leaky wave propagates through an interface between two different media while shedding electromagnetic waves into one of the media. A sinusoidally modulated metasurface is one such kind of a radiator that is implemented on a dielectric covered ground plane. There has been extensive research to improve the radiation characteristics of this metasurface. One of the properties of such a leaky-wave antenna (LWA) is the angular variation of its major lobe as a function of frequency, which restricts the usable bandwidth of the antenna. This letter presents a detailed analysis of the bandwidth enhancement of the metasurface by employing multilayered dielectric substrates on the ground plane, thus increasing the range of scan angle. |
