Zusammenfassung:The process of research presented in this article focused on understanding the perception of entrepreneurs of the leather, footwear and leather goods sector before the concept of innovation. The idea is to identify their position and if there is some sort of organizational culture that fosters it or boosts it. The observations carried out with employers were contrasted with analysis of products made by experts in product design. This allowed building a picture of the types of innovation that occur in this business sector and lift categories of analysis to understand the dynamics and strategies for the development of new products within companies. This is expected to facilitate the implementation of proposals for the evolution of each of the categories identified.
