Zusammenfassung: | Postmortem findings included cloudiness and scarring of the left cornea, a purulent meningitis affecting the left side of the cerebellum, the area adjacent to the left inner/middle ear (petrous temporal bone) and the ventral part of the brain near the pituitary.M bovis was the only organism isolated and this was from the affected part of the brain adjacent to the left inner/middle ear. The affected animal was a bought-in, artificially reared, 10-month-old Friesian castrated male calf; it was one of a group of 60 approximately three-week-old calves that were purchased in December 2003 and reared on milk replacer and concentrates, in purpose-built calf housing. |
