At the migrant and refugee community forum, Helen mentored overseas health professionals studying to practise in the UK, sat as a medical member on incapacity benefits tribunals, and was an executive member of the Royal Free alumni association, publishing a retrospective of the professional lives of her 1953 intake at medical school (1996).
