Zusammenfassung:This paper puts forward the question whether production and impact of Ibero-American education research should be measured using standard methodologies. A study is carried out in which the results for a group of Ibero-American education researchers are measured using Thomson ISI standard rules and using Google Scholar as an alternative. The results show that --given the characteristics of the field of research in education-- the alternative focus offers a more complete picture and reflects the work and impact of the research in a more realistic and fair way.
