Current perspectives on rabies 2. Review of classical rabies and its control

AN article in the last issue described the biology of the rabies virus, including its epidemiology pathogenesis and immunopathogenesis (In Practice, March 2000, pp 118-124). In this article, the clinical signs, diagnosis and control of rabies are discussed, with a brief review of the recently introduced Pet Travel Scheme and action to be taken on suspicion of a case.
