Zusammenfassung:The new nitridoborate nitride Mg3Ga(BN2)N2 was prepared by multilateral solid‐state metathesis reaction from MgCl2, GaN, Li3N, and Li3BN2 at high temperature. The crystal structure of Mg3Ga(BN2)N2 was refined from X‐ray powder diffraction patterns isotypically to Mg3Al(BN2)N2 with the space group R$\bar {3}$m no.166 [Z = 3, a = b = 3.4560(0) Å, c = 31.7924(2) Å]. The undoped and Eu2+‐doped Mg3Ga(BN2)N2 show orange‐red luminescence under UV excitation.
