KNJIZNICA DR. HENRIKA TUME (1858-1935), ENA NAJBOLJE OHRANJENIH MESCANSKIH KNJIZNIC NA GORISKEM

The library of Henrik Tuma, kept at the Research Station ZRC SAZU (Raziskovalna postaja ZRC SAZU) in Nova Gorica, is nowadays considered to be one of the best preserved private libraries arising in the region of Gorica at the turn of the 19th century. This article tries to evaluate and encompass all the richness of the collection thus giving an insight in the reading culture and book production in Gorica and in the wider Slovenia. The article gives an analysis of the library catalogue created in the period 2004-2008 (electronic version was published in 2013). The evaluation of the subject areas and the analysis of the catalogue give an insight in the present state of the collection which differs from Tuma's inventory of the collection. It is evident that it is one of the best preserved private libraries arising in the region of Gorica at the turn of the 19th century.
