Zusammenfassung:This article offers a foundation for becoming a neurobiologically informed play therapist. Following a discussion of the history of neurobiologically informed approaches to treatment an overview of key principles of neurobiology is provided, synthesized from publications by leaders in the field. Principles are then used to explain play therapy interventions used in client cases. Drawing on concepts from recent neurobiology, this article ends with recommendations toward becoming a more neurobiologically informed play therapist.
