Zusammenfassung: | This paper presents a case of a benign oral lesion in a 76-year-old male affected by vascular parkinsonism, who has been treated with laser surgery using an 808nm diode laser at 2.5W in CW, with a fluence of 1990.44J/cm^sup 2^ and a 400μm fiber diameter according to the mucosal preservation technique. At clinical exam on the lower right lip it presented a swallowing of about 1 cm in diameter. At the end of the treatment the excised sample was sent to the pathologist, in a 10% buffered formalin, for the histological examination. The final diagnosis was lipoma. The patient had no pain after surgery and a complete healing was observed after one month. This case confirmed that the diode laser can be considered as an effective and safe device in critical patients thanks to minimal invasion, less intra-operative bleeding, better hemostasis, reduced pain and optimal healing. |
