CONHECIMENTO DE FAMILIARES ACERCA DAS ULCERAS POR PRESS?O E DE SEUS DIREITOS A REPARAC?O

A descriptive study of a qualitative approach, with the purpose of discussing the awareness of the family of hospitalized patients, with pressure ulcers, in relation to their rights to repair for damages caused by the ulcers. The data was obtained from semi-structured interviews applied to family members accompanying hospitalized patients with pressure ulcers, between August and September 2012. The organization of the information was in accordance with content analysis phases. For family members, hospitalized patients inevitably develop pressure ulcer due to immobilization and humidity; application of emollients, changing position in bed and resorting to spiritual aid are actions adopted by family members. It is recognized that the institution offers insufficient resources for assistance to family members and unawareness of their rights for d care, but are unaware of their rights for remediation due to the formation of ulcers during hospitalization.
