AÇÕES AFIRMATIVAS NA UNIVERSIDADE: POLÍTICA PÚBLICA EM EDUCAÇÃO PARA A POPULAÇÃO NEGRA/AFFIRMATIVE ACTIONS AT UNIVERSITY: EDUCATIONAL PUBLIC POLICY TO BLACK POPULATION

This paper has as main objective to present an analysis of affirmative action in public university while Brazilian public policies targeted to the black population. As such, there is a brief history of affirmative action in Brazil and the reasons for its implementation in high education. This study shows, among other conclusions, the existence of racial inequality between blacks and whites in different social spheres as the main justification. This paper was used as theoretical studies of Guimarães (2003), Gomes (2001) and Silverio (2007). The methodology used is the literature research. It is necessary to say that this work is the result of a ref lection obtained from the Master in Education at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State (Unirio), entitled The life in the university: a study about everyday life of the black students at UERJ.
