Zusammenfassung:The paper presents the characteristics of the main phenomena, which are associated with the development of Russian metallurgical complex. The value of macroeconomic policy in the formation of priorities of branch development is shown. In the evaluation of prospects in the domestic metallurgy, the emphasis is on the changes in the driving forces, which determine the trends in the global and domestic market for metal products.
