The direct-detect 100G superchannel has moderate optical signal to noise ratio requirements and significant tolerance to the different optical impairments. The robustness, low-power consumption, cost effectiveness, and spectral efficiency of this 100G system makes it a very strong candidate for today's datacenter- and metro-networks. |
