Zusammenfassung:In the article the problem of the azimuth ambiguity in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images and its genesis are presented. A method of suppressing the ambiguities by utilization of Doppler-sensitive signals is proposed, and the necessary modifications to the SAR synthesis algorithm are discussed. The SAR system parameters required for an optimal performance of the method are discussed and simulation results are presented.
