Pancreatic cancer – Portal vein infiltration – True or false Is it already true invasion? Authors experience with portal vein involvement during pancreatectomy for pancreatic cancer

Conclusion: In patients qualified to pancreatectomy with intention to treat who have portal vein involvement found during operation, portal vein resection is a safe surgical procedure wich may have a survival benefit for pancreatic carcinoma, because only 28% of them have true vascular invasion.
