Zusammenfassung: | The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between Competitive State Anxiety (CSA) and shooting accuracy of Gampaha district school level Netball shooters. CSA is temporary, ever-changing emotional state of subjective, consciously perceived feelings of apprehension and tension, associated with activation of autonomic nervous system, and made up of cognitive and somatic anxiety. Thirty shooters (N = 30) at the age of 14 to 18 from Gampaha district school level netball teams were randomly selected from the Zonal Netball Tournaments draws. Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-II was used to collect data. All individuals were asked to complete questionnaire, 30 minutes prior to the competition. Each individuals shooting accuracy was measured by successful attempts out of total attempts in three matches. The study revealed that (+0.393), (+0.193), (-0.183) correlations in self-confidence, somatic anxiety and cognitive anxiety with the shooting accuracy respectively. |
