Zusammenfassung:Border Songs: A Collection of Music and Spoken Word is a diverse compilation of musical genres and literary voices that seeks to benefit the "No More Deaths/No Más Muertes" humanitarian aid organization. Scott Ainslie's powerful protest song "The Land that I Love" sums it up best when he sings "My grandfather's bones are up on the hill / if it weren't for the wages I'd be living here still. / Who cares if your markets are free? / Look at what you've done to my wife and me." The Unitarian Universalist Church of Tucson adopted "No More Deaths/No Más Muertes" in 2008 as one of its ministries and produced Border Songs to benefit their humanitarian aid cause, which is part of their church's mission of "Envisioning a world where justice and compassion cross all borders, we pledge energy and resources to transform ourselves, our community, and the world around us."
