Zusammenfassung: | The present study aims at analyzing the shoulder dental preparation expected to provide space for making a crown which, following blunt application, should realize mutual protection ratios of the marginal periodontium, present a volume built in arch and establish functional relationships with the opposing teeth. The study was done in the Military Hospital of Sibiu, on a total number of 51 patients, over a period of two years. The applied treatment consisted in fixed prostheses and shoulder and tangential tooth preparation. The incidence of periodontal reactions in tangential preparations was of 85%, compared to 15% in shoulder preparations. The most used type was the rounded narrow shoulder, in 50% cases, followed by the wide rounded one, in 40% of cases, and 10% -- in tangential cases. The methods used for the eviction of gingival sulcus are: application of a cotton cord soaked in astringent solution -- in 60% of cases, gingival rotary curettage -- 30% of cases, and mixed techniques -- 10% of cases. |
