Zusammenfassung: | She thinks it is possible that the fast-growing field of ecocriticism, and the increase in popular books about nature, will redirect the academic community to focus more of their attention on nature writing as a genre, incorporating classic works into the curriculum, rediscovering older texts, and finding new themes to explore in scholarship. In compiling these bibliographies, she was truly surprised by the amount and diversity of nature writing which had been published throughout American history. Most of these books are deeply reflective and could be used not simply to explore the country's divergent attitudes towards nature but also as windows into broader societal and cultural issues. Here, Kochis discusses nature writing and the creation of bibliography of seminal books. |
