Zusammenfassung:In classical information retrieval models, documents are represented by a set of terms or keywords. A disadvantage of this representation is that the query results are limited only to the frequency of occurrence of terms. No considers the meaning of terms and semantic relationships that may exist between the documents. One alternative to solve this problem is using Semantic Web technologies, in order to assign data a well defined meaning. This article describes a proposal to extend the information retrieval process using Semantic Web technologies. Documents are semantically enriched with annotations that are obtained from domain ontology. The extended semantic retrieval takes into account both, keywords expressed in the user query as well, its meaning, which is represented by ontology. The extended semantic retrieval improves results in terms of precision and recall compared with those obtained in classic information retrieval.
