ChemInform Abstract: Zirconium Dodecylphosphonate Promoted Synthesis of Xanthene Derivatives by Condensation Reaction of Aldehydes and [beta]-Naphthol or Dimedone in Green Media

Zirconium dodecylphosphonate is found to be an efficient catalyst for the simple and easy synthesis of a wide range of substituted benzoxanthenes and 1,8-octahydroxanthenes under mild and environmentally benign reaction conditions.
