MULTIDIMENSIONAL MANAGEMENT OF A HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION

Management of a higher education institution can be examined from various angles, in a variety of aspects, both in terms of managing knowledge and information and managing information technology and system. This article indicates selected aspects of knowledge and information management in the educational process of a higher education institution and its environment. Knowledge expansiveness, flow and conversion would not be possible without an appropriate human capital of lecturers and university staff, students and structural capital of a university. Thus, the specificity of the functioning of a library in a higher education institution requires introduction of specific solutions in the area of information systems. The ancillary role of a library in the area of making books and information about them available, as well as exchange of resources between libraries, makes it necessary to adapt the information system to the needs of both users of a library and its staff. The paper notices that reliable, complete, real information is of fundamental importance in managing a school oriented towards providing educational services.
