TICAGRELOR POTENTIATES NEUTROPHIL PHAGOCYTOSIS VIA INHIBITION OF ADENOSINE REUPTAKE BY ERYTHROCYTES

Results: In the presence of erythrocytes, a low concentration of adenosine (10 nM) significantly increased neutrophil phagocytosis compared to control when ticagrelor was present (37.6±6.6 vs. 28.0±6.6; p=0.028) but had no effect in the absence of ticagrelor (25.3±5.6 vs. 25.1±7.5; p>0.05).
