For a Sustainable Future: Indigenous Transborder Higher Education

Communities use natural beargrass, yucca, and devil's claw- plants found both north and south of the U.S.-Mexico border-to weave baskets. Because of the importance of these plants, increased pesticide and herbicide use is of great concern, especially when it contaminates basket-making materials. [...]the program would foster collaboration between TOCC and Mexican universities and educational agencies for a student exchange program.
