Zusammenfassung: | Here, Krausova offers a view on the rebuilding processes of the White Earth Nation within the larger context of national and global processes. The struggle of the White Earth Anishinaabeg to maintain a distinct political and cultural space for their existence as one of the nations within the United States is a form of resistance against the cultural, legal, and political hegemony of the nation-state. In spite of being essentially localized in the region of the White Earth Reservation in northwestern Minnesota, this resistance is, to a great extent, influenced by national and global factors. |
