CONSIDERATIONS ON LIVESTOCK DEVELOPMENT IN DOBRUDJA (1965-1989)

Between 1965-1989, in Dobrudja, the livestock sector has experienced profound changes, increasing rapidly the livestock’s number through the use of feed rations rich in nutrients, and by providing the best zooveterinare assistance. A great accent was put on the improving the cattle, pigs and sheep species through a rigorous selection and breeding of these species. As a result, significant increased quantities of animal products were sold to the state. By these means, Dobrudja became the head of the largest suppliers of food products both for the state fund and for Romania's international trade, particularly Arabian countries.
