ChemInform Abstract: Facile One-Pot Synthesis of Tetrahydroisoquinolines from Amino Acids via Hypochlorite-Mediated Decarboxylation and Pictet-Spengler Condensation

Oxidative decarboxylation of α‐amino acids provides the corresponding aldehydes which are converted into tetrahydroquinolines by addition of dopamine via Pictet—Spengler reaction.
