Zusammenfassung: | Job satisfaction is a concept in any work environment that is affected by a variety of factors. For more than 30 years, researchers have studied and examined how these factors affect job satisfaction. This study was performed to examine the factors that affect the job satisfaction of academic staff. The study was conducted with a total of 196 academic staff who is working at Karabuk University, Turkey. Data were collected through a demographical information form, Internal-External Locus of Control Scale (Rotter, 1996), SF-12 Quality of Life Health Survey and Job Satisfaction Scale (Spector, 1997). To determine the factors affecting job satisfaction of academic staff moderated regression analysis was employed. The results of the research demonstrated that quality of life has partial mediating and moderating role on relationship between external-internal locus of control and job satisfaction among academicians. Additionally, the analysis of moderating effect was examined by drawing regression curves in case of low and high level of quality of life. Based on the findings, it is determined that when the level of quality of life of academic staff is lower and when their believes in external locus of control are higher, they have low job satisfaction. On the other hand when their level of quality of life and their level of internal locus of control are higher, they have high job satisfaction. |
