Inhibition of TGF-[beta] signaling in combination with TLR7 ligation re-programs a tumoricidal phenotype in tumor-associated macrophages

Highlights * TLR7 expressed on TAMs but not the tumor cells. * Ligation of TLR7+ TGF-β receptor I inhibitor in TAM/tumor cell co-culture system re-programmed TAMs to M1 macrophage. * In vivo TLR7 ligation/TGF-β receptor I inhibition increased tumor apoptosis and elevated lymphocytes infiltration.
