Zusammenfassung: | In the film Three Colors: Blue by Polish director Krzysztof Kieślowski, music has very important role. Composer Zbignew Preisner defined Blue as "...a musical, not, of course, in the Hollywood sense. It talks about a composer who composes for the sake of uniting Europe." Kieślowski required of the composer Preisner to compose music on the basis of the film script before film was shot. So the film narration was not only scripted, but scored in advance. Composer and director found common language in shaping film and music. The task of the music was, according to the composer Preisner "...to depict the film, but cleverly so. This means that there is no need to deal with the external events that we look at on the screen, but what is there in the people, what is in actors, and at the same time in us ourselves, in the audience that is..." |
