Zusammenfassung: | When introducing the reform package for data protection legislation in the Union, the EU Commission gave two main reasons for its activity, namely the differences in implementation of the existing EU data protection framework in the member states and legal uncertainty concerning how to deal with the signicant risks associated notably with online activity. The proposal took the approach that the rst problem should be remedied by having a data protection regulation instead of a directive, and the second problem should be solved by additional legal provisions dealing specically with the risks of the online world. |
