Legislators around the world are requiring action such as through appropriate Privacy Management Programmes and Privacy Impact Assessments. This article highlights the privacy protection mechanisms included in the proposed European Data Protection Regulation (DPR) and - by applying a comparative view on implemented Guidelines abroad as well as self-regulatory steps taken - critically analyses the DPR's shortcomings. |
