Zusammenfassung: | Abuse of working children within the family Objective: This study was planned as a multi-purpose study in order to determine not only the types of abuse of the working children within the family but also to consider the factors influencing the abuse. Abuse within the family has been evaluated. Method: The data of this cross-sectional study were collected with questionnaires applied to 595 apprentices under the age of 18. Descriptive statistics are used to summarize the data and Binary Logistic Analyses are used in determining the risk factors. Results: It was determined that 20% of the children were abused physically, 9.6% emotionally, 2.7% sexually and in total 24.7% of the children had been subjected to abuse by their fathers, mothers, siblings or relatives. Moreover it was determined that 12.4% physically, 21% emotionally; and in total 27.1% of these children were being subjected to neglect. Whereas low family income increases the possibility of all types of abuse and neglect, it was determined that being female increases the possibility of emotional and sexual abuse and emotional neglect. Conclusion: The results of our study clearly show that abuse and neglect within the family still remains important. Following families at risk closely by house calls and carrying out social work can be effective in decreasing the risk of abuse. |
