Zusammenfassung: | A series of self-portraits, portraits of family, landscapes, interior scenes of the houses in which Emma Hoffman lived, reflect her lamentations, her wandering, her search for redemption. She had many losses during her life and art was her salvation. This essay is the result of an ongoing dialogue between Hoffman's paintings and her granddaughter Naomi Lowinsky's poetry. Jung's work, The Red Book, provides an archetypal framework for the journey to hell and back. |
