Zusammenfassung: | Government financing instruments like state export credit guarantees have successfully strengthened international trade over the last 90 years. They play a significant role in promoting exports, both in highly industrialised and in developing economies. Together with private insurers, government export credit agencies (ECAs) accounted for a record 11% of global trade in 2013. ECAs give evidence of strong support for insuring exporters against losses due to buyers' insolvencies in export markets and political risks. This particularly applies to exports to emerging economies, where ECAs fill the gap left by private insurers or banks. |
