The Association of the International Conference for Improvisation met for its fifth conference from October 7th-12th, 2002 in Lucerne, Switzerland. Some of the speakers included Luc Ciompi who spoke on the psychology of improvisation, Franz Joseph Czernin who spoke on the implicit and explicit demands of music, and George Lewis who spoke on the subject of improvisation being a part of an encompassing dialog whose paradigm is reflected by technology, race, and sex.
