Zusammenfassung: | Measles is a highly contagious respiratory virus with airborne transmission. A rapid response to a Measles case is crucial in preventing secondary cases. In 2011 a Measles case presented to the Emergency Department (ED) and was immediately masked and placed in a private room with the door closed. Airborne Precautions were initiated within a few hours. A delay in IgM testing availability, lack of environmental assessment for transmission potential, discordant and unrealistic guidelines, and variable public health instructions were identified. |
