Zusammenfassung:It has been reported that some blood cultures (BCs) that meet National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) criteria for a central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) may represent BC contaminants. In late 2010, 3 of 7 CLABSIs reported by the Saint Raphael campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) to NHSN represented BCs drawn from central catheters and likely represented BC contaminants rather than true CLABSIs.
