Reduced Response to Corticosteroids in PBMC from Patients with Steroid Resistant Asthma

PBMC from SR asthmatics have higher baseline TNF-alpha and IL-8 mRNA levels, are less-effective suppressors of TNF-alpha and IL-8 expression in the presence of DEX, and require more DEX to suppress proliferation than PBMC from SS asthmatics.
