Zusammenfassung:In this research, burnout levels of the students of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, Faculty of Health Sciences, Selcuk University and factors influencing these levels were intended to be determined. Data of the study in descriptive type were collected between April- May 2012. Totally, 627 students took part in the research. Maslach Burnout Scale and personal information form developed by researchers were used as a data collection tool. MBI scale is composed of three dimensions; emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment. Statistical analyses of the research were conducted through using Oneway ANOVA test, Tukey HSD test, Mann Whitney U Test, Kruskal Wallis and student t test according to the fact that they have a normal range or not in SPSS 16,0. Correlation analysis was used in the comparison of the burnout levels with the grade point average. Results have been evaluated in % 95 confidence interval, significance has been evaluated in p < 0.05 level. As a result of this study, significant differences have been statistically found out between the burnout levels of the midwife and nurse students and some variables. When burnout levels of the students were examined according to the department they studied, significance has been found between two groups (p0,05). Findings underline the importance of the nursing and midwifery education in terms of burnout syndrome. In order to enable the protection and development of the community health and increase the quality of patient care, education of the nurse and midwife students, who are the basic component of the health sector, should be paid attention and supported socially.
