Zusammenfassung: | In spite of the fact that most studies concerned women's role in child care, these lesser empirical studies explored the significance of men's participation. The purpose of this study is to determine at which level mother and father involvement factors predict mental health among 15-17 age adolescents. The sample of the study is consisted of 401 students from 4 high schools in Aydin. To the students participated in the study, Beck Depression Scale, Aggression Scale, Life Satisfaction Scale, Self-Perception Profile for Children- General Self Worth Subscale, Nurtarant Fathering Scales have been used. It was examined the appropriateness of Aggression Scale and Nurturant fathering Scale. Data were analyzed by Pearson's product moment correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis. The findings show that, perceived nurtarant mothering and fathering had positive correlations with life satisfaction and general self worth, significant and negative correlation with depression and aggression scores. The results of multiple regression analysis have indicated that mother and father involvement is the significant predictors of mental health for adolescence. The results are discussed in the way of nurturant mothering, fathering and adolescence mental health providing a guide for future research and applications as well.
