Zusammenfassung:In a panel discussion, several speakers discussed the changing role of regional organizations in African Peace and Security. Francis M. Ssekandi, Professor of Law, Columbia Law School, discussed provisions in the United Nations Charter and their implications on the role of region organizations in Africa. Theodore Christakis, Professor, Universite Grenoble-Alpes, and Director, Centre for International Security and European Studies, spoke on the secondary role of African regional organizations in recent armed conflicts in Africa. Sarah Nouwen, University Lecturer in Law, University of Cambridge, talked about the diverging conflict analyses of the United Nations and the African Union.
