Zusammenfassung: | Public lending has both negative and positive aspects, especially if people are considering the conditions envisaged in the general terms of public lending contracts and the role of public lending in general. Often they can witness publicized "victory" of the government regarding successful contracting of a loan, of course without a special attention being accorded to the often harsh repayment terms included in the contract. Public loans often can act as a rescue tool for governments, in fact being nothing more than an easy and convenient solution which does not require too much expertise from the representatives of governments and which often hide government's incapacity to offer citizens "good governance". At the end, the citizens need to bear the overwhelming burden of public debt. The paper at hand will present the most important international financial organizations operating on at global or regional level, taking into account the particular usefulness of these institutions and major role they play in facilitating economic development. |
