Zusammenfassung: | Italian is known to be a very singable language, especially for legato singing, due to its high number of vowels and vowel combinations. German, on the other hand, is often regarded as a low singability language because of its high number of consonants and complex consonant clusters. Using this criterion, Finnish has been described as being very similar to Italian and, therefore, like Italian, very pleasang to sing. This article has defined singability along two axes: the level of comfort and the level of intelligibility. When it comes to intelligibility, Finnish appears to be less singable than Italian. |
