ChemInform Abstract: Metal-Free Oxidative Cyclization of Alkynyl Aryl Ethers to Benzofuranones

Readily available phenols can be converted into substituted aryl alkynyl ethers, which react with an N‐oxide as oxidant and catalytic amounts of a Broensted acid to provide benzofuranones.
