Zusammenfassung: | With key provisions of the America Invents Act taking effect and a host of controversial US Supreme Court decisions, 2013 was another active year for intellectual property law. Big cases and big changes will continue to be the trend in 2014, with eight intellectual property cases pending before the Supreme Court and a number of patent reform measures under consideration by Congress. Even the White House is taking on an a more significant role in intellectual property. In the 2014 State of the Union address, Pres Obama encouraged Congress to pass patent reform while generally emphasizing the importance of innovation in the US and the White House followed up with a renewed call to action with Executive Actions aimed at improving access to the US Patent and Trademark Office. |
